There are so many people with houses for sale locally, that there must be something we can do get these people moving! This was the problem that we set out to remedy when ‘homeswap’ was born!
Estate agency, like any other business has a certain level of competition between rival companies. Of course, we all want the client who is sold subject to contract to purchase one of the properties we are selling, and not the one that our competitors are selling – that stands to reason; but when faced with a market situation like we have been experiencing in recent months, it seemed sensible to use the resources of a number of local estate agents, and generate business for each other with the clients we have.
The idea for ‘homeswap’ was discussed by local agents, and agreed that we should indeed share basic information on our clients properties and their demands, and try and piece together solid chains from the resources we already had.
The scheme had to rely on the staff in each estate agency carefully considering the situation of each and every client who wanted to be a part of the ‘homeswap’ scheme – making sure that their personal requirements, along with details of their own home were available to every other estate agent within the scheme. It was important for each estate agents individual clients, that they knew that the only people contacting them regarding the ‘homeswap’ would be their own estate agents; that they wouldn’t be hounded by any other estate agent. |
